  2. I can totally understand the unnecessary "junk" they have there, like the monitors to zoom in on the baby's face because honestly humans were still able to develop all these years without every mom having these monitors, but to speak from the materialistic point of things, (special ed teacher mode on), different sensory input creates the greatest learning environment for the brain.

With the first 5 years being the most crucial time for development, sensory stimulation is vital for cognitive growth. And while it seems silly to have vibrating cribs or mobiles or mirrors or music playing or any other sensory stimulation it really does cause rapid growth of cells and transmitters in the brain. Basically, all those shiny objects will probably make your kid smarter than Timmy next door whose parents only bought him a stuffed teddy bear because they didn't see the need for flashy toys. Most (not all) of those crazy gadgets were created for brain development, not because the baby needs a massage or wants to brag that she has more dangling animals on her mobile than Timmy.

(Special ed teacher mode off) Good luck with all of your shopping and planning! It's been great getting to stay in the loop through your blog. We really appreciate the time and effort you've put into it!

  3. I am sure that you feel this way since you were raised in a cardboard box with only a stick and a rock to play with. LOL :D

  4. I also posted on the baby's room. So.......Felicity. Is that how it's spelled and do you have a middle name picked out??

Ryan you remind me of Todd, Lindsey's fiancee. Only you're way more calm.
